I believe that there is so much value in teaching my students how math is used in the real world. The Project Based Learning activities that we will do this year will incorporate real world tasks, concepts and a lot of technology. Work Bonus!
Students are given a Bonus check from their job and then given certain guidelines on how to spend their money. They will learn how to write checks, keep a check registrar, buy a house and car, take a vacation, and donate to a charity. They will present their spending by using a Prezi.

Pythagorean Theorem in the real world!
Students often wonder how the content will be used in the real world. This project will help them discover how PT is used in different aspects of modern day architecture, ancient architecture, transportation and other real life situations. Students will research, discuss, create and write throughout this project.
